The project
The Association of Kassians in Greece was founded in 1928 and connects the Kassians of the diaspora with their island. The official website was designed and implemented by Shell-iT as a digital archive and meeting point for the members, friends and visitors of the Association.
The project is not a simple presentation page. At its core are five distinct types of content, each with its own templates and classifications: 42 monuments and sights in 9 categories, 46 events, 19 issues of the magazine «Palmos tou Kasiotis», 8 businesses with categories and regions, 7 villages and 5 dishes of local cuisine — along with 21 pages and the news section.
The interactive map of Kasos brings this material together in one image: each point belongs to a category — villages, sights, museum, beach, islets, trail — and leads to the page of the corresponding monument. The website operates in Greek and English, while the membership registration and donation paths are separate and clear. It is website construction where the content structure is the work itself. It was launched in September 2026.
What did we do in this project?
- Tailor-made design – Visual identity in navy, gold and ecru, with Playfair Display on the titles and the Club emblem.
- Five types of content – Monuments, events, publications, businesses, villages and local cuisine, each with its own standard and its own classifications.
- Interactive map of Kasos – Map with color-coded categories of points, leading to the pages of the monuments.
- Publication archive – The 19 issues of «Palmos tou Kasiotis» organized in a separate archive.
- Events and news – Calendar with 46 event entries and announcements section.
- Membership registration and donations – Separate routes for regular and auxiliary members, donation page with the Association's accounts and newsletter subscription.
- Bilingual website and accessibility – Greek and English, accessibility statement and legal texts that remain up-to-date.
The outcome
Bilingual website-archive for Kasos, with 42 monuments, 46 events, 19 magazine issues and an interactive map, in operation since September 2026.
Technical approach
WordPress with the block editor and GenerateBlocks, ACF for the content type fields, The Events Calendar for the events, Leaflet for the map, TranslatePress for the two languages, and Complianz for the legal texts.
